Why this matters

Independent verification at every step. Each organization — GlobalTech, Acme Supplies, QualityTest Labs — controls its own keys and seals its own documents. No shared credentials, no central authority.
Dispute resolution. If a quality issue arises, the sealed chain provides cryptographic proof of who signed what and when. The purchase order, shipping manifest, and quality certificate each have their own independently verifiable .vrfy file.
Counterfeit prevention. A fraudulent shipping document or fake quality certificate would fail verification — either the DID won't resolve, the signature won't match, or the signer won't appear in the trust registry.
